Why Birthwrite Exists

Birth centers are closing across the country. Mothers are losing access to natural birth options in their own communities — sometimes with no alternatives within an hour's drive.

I grew up in a family of seven. Every one of us born naturally, no medication, no intervention. When I came to the United States, I was shocked by what I found. Inductions. C-sections. Mothers being pushed into hospital systems that treated birth like a medical emergency instead of a natural event.

The birth centers fighting to change that deserve to be seen.

Birthwrite exists to help them get found — by the mothers looking for them, by the communities that need them, and by the people who can help them grow.

We're starting with research. Because you can't solve a problem you don't fully understand.
